Review of Martyrs (2008) by Inspired R — 11 Jan 2011
Oh boy did I love this movie. with martyrs you basically get three movies in one. first is just a blood bath that could be everyones worste nightmare. the scene at the begining with the shotgun made my girlfriend cry and force me to turn the movie off.
the next day I watched it again with my brother and im not gunna lie, near the ending there is some brutal beatings that made me cringe and think about turning off the movie again. after sticking through it you find out every scene in this movie has a purpose and although it felt pointless at first it all comes together in the end and everything has a reasn.
back to what I was saying about three movies, the one is just a bloodbath massacre, the second is a monster type horror and the third s a psychological horror. the setting and feeling throughout the whole movie keeps on changing and you are always guessing and having curve balls thrown at you.
The movie sticks in your head and is highly rcommendable, i've recommended it to so many people and they all jsut say that is one fucked up movie, but they liked it, some went out and bought it. it's hard to review this movie without ruining it but you people out there if you ike horror you have to see this one, it will scare you(which most movies fail to do), shock you, and amaze you, I promise!
