Review of Martyrs (2008) by Max E — 29 May 2012

I can praise this for some of its ideas, and although it delivers some gruesome violence with exciting and surprising results, they seem confused over the direction this film is going in. Things quickly become tedious and seem like a longer, more boring and ultimately vague version of Hostel.

Best parts were the impressive make-up and sound work, but don't expect a life changing experience here.
