Review of Marty (1955) by Pascal V — 17 Apr 2011
I don't think I've seen a movie so honest in feeling of a character who's in love such as this, and though this film isn't particularly long, it is a masterpiece for its story and characters, but most of all its message, which is that we should be with who makes us happy, not someone who just has good looks or a nice body, but someone who is kind, and we enjoy being around.
The film ends at such a perfect place that we want to see more, but we instantly assume the best. It is easy to understand why this won Best Picture, because its just so good.
