Review of Marty (1955) by Patrick L — 04 Jun 2012
Starring Ernest Borgnine as Marty and Betsy Blair as Clara, this film shows the plight of a single man whose siblings are all married and whom hasn't had much good fortune when it comes to women, due in part to his unremarkable appearance though he is a promising potential businessman.
I really enjoyed and related to this film and the character Marty as his circumstances bear some resemblance to my own. I enjoyed the chemistry between Ernest and Betsy. His mother and friends tell him to not bother with her but ultimately he chooses her and his happiness first.
