Review of Martian Child (2007) by Adam L — 11 Aug 2008
One of the most touching movies I have seen since The Notebook. A truely remarkable film about a widowed science fiction writer that adopts a child who doesn't seem to fit in with everyone else. The film also shows the level of love that is required to raise a child, even if that child believes he is a Martian.
Martian Child especially appeals to me because I am somewhat of a writer who's going to college to write for film. This is the sort of film that I would like to write a script or direct for. It has its wierd "out of this world" scenes, but after all the kid thinks he's a Martian. Sometimes the movie is a little too wierd in parts, and that's the only reason why it doesnt' get a 5-star rating.
