Review of Martian Child (2007) by Matthew B — 18 Aug 2008
A kid who thinks he's from Mars is adopted by a middle-aged science fiction writer. That's cute. This movie shows how strange the world can be for kids sometimes. I liked this movie 'cuz I felt I could relate somewhat to how the little boy felt, studying his outside universe as a stranger.
I would definitely recommend this to any single parent or single father recently new to bringing up children. I especially liked the nightlight that projects the solar system onto the ceiling. John Cusack steals a kiss in this movie (and who wouldn't want to kiss Amanda Peet!).
