Review of Martian Child (2007) by Alaine B — 18 Sep 2008
A touching comedy-drama about a boy who has lost everything and believes himself to be from Mars. John Cusack plays a character also familiar to loss, and the two form a bond as they unite against the blinding sun.
Great to see John and Joan Cusack working together. Joan Cusack (who plays John's sister in the film) delivers lines like a real mother would, and it is a bit scary. Amanda Peet sometimes feels like a throw in to the story, but provides an interesting romantic sub plot.
