Review of Martian Child (2007) by Jaclyn L — 26 Sep 2009
I was quite surprised by this adaptation of David Gerrold's autobiographical novel about adopting a child who believes he is from Mars. Quite the opposite of most Hollywood movies I have seen about parenting, It doesn't hit one false note and really captures the experience of raising a neurologically odd child with charm and honesty, rather than overwrought drama or glib humor.
And it treated kids with respect without being cloying or offensive. Great stuff!
