This film does create the sense of paranoia and suspense, but felt like it missed out on the overall plot. Elizabeth Olsen is brilliant in her portrayal of Martha (Marcy May) but the rest of the cast could have done better with a little fleshing out.
The movie felt divided between the perfect sociable life at her sister's home and the gritty harsh living at the cult-like farmland. Though beautifully filmed, the ending felt like a miss. Ambiguousness is fine and dandy, but I felt that the movie ended abruptly.
