Review of Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011) by Gary D — 21 Mar 2012
An incredibly interesting and equally unnerving look at the effects of abuse and mind control. This film does an impeccable job of instilling high anxiety in the viewer without a lot of heavy dialogue.
I'm wildly impressed with Elizabeth Olsen in this film. Also the subtle yet effective changes in lighting and lens clarity offer a heightened sense of unrest. Everything about this film is geared towards making the viewer extremely uncomfortable .
.. And I love it.
