Review of Mars Needs Moms (2011) by A-Anne B — 30 Mar 2012
Mars Needs Mom's is one of those rare guilty pleasure films. This film is not great. But it is ok in a good way. Seth Green plays Milo when his bossy mom (Joan Cusack) is captured by aliens. The reason why is that MARS NEEDS MOMS OOOOOOOOO. I thought this was stupid at first. But there is a reasoning behind this told by George Gribble or just Gribble played by Dan Folger as he gets Milo out of a tight situation after sneaking aboard an spacecraft. He has to get his mom back before she is put into the memory of a nanny bot who are the parents who take over the alien martains as parents because they are not good at parenting. This gets into your brain and you deal with it quite well surprisingly with this film. The acting is not bad, the writting is corny and sometimes original, the motion capture is fantastic showing off in some scenes how great expressions on characters faces are like at the beginning. Mediocre to those who's parents have to be suckered in, for the average moviegoer though, I think you will be delighted in some scenes that are done quite well. I recommend it to average moviegoers and movies buffs but for the parents, I think you won't quite expect much from it. As I said before, its not a great film or anything, its mediocre with very entertaining scenes.
56/100 C.
