Review of Mars Needs Moms (2011) by Lenard W — 20 Mar 2011
Firstly, the good - Joan Cusack, her avatar is perfect, and her vocal and body movement work is a visual and auditory wonder. I also liked the verbal patois of Gribble who left Earth in the 80s, Ki who learned English from 60s television, and Milo a modern day pre-teen.
Second, the bad - the scenic animations is bland and too technicolor for a 2011 film plus the story is listless and seemed to be written a couple decades ago.
Lastly, the ugly - my question is is the film trying to get kids to behave and listen to their parents in the hopes that said parents are kidnapped by Martians, or is it endorsing misbehavior so that adults aren't kidnapped by the Martians?
