Why do we need this film? Has Disney any sense or brains anymore? You know your film is in trouble when the best thing about the film is the title, which could open up many opportunities, but instead wastes them with very little interest in the title, but rather in visuals, below-par 3-D, crushing lonliness with heart, and also a lack of imagination. The cast is so-so, with the human guy on Mars being extremely annoying. I really didn't care who everybody was, what was happening, why it was happening, and felt like walking out, but I kept telling myself, it's only an hour and a half, it's only an hour and a half, it's only an hour and a half!

Perhaps the most disappointing thing is Disney jumping on the band wagon with 3-D, which Rango showed us was not necessary, and that's a rare thing these days. Disney has always stood out as the new thing, with great stories, fantastic animation, attention to characters, and little intrest in boring the audience (Ex. Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantastia, Cinderella), but Mars Needs Moms has nothing to do with these classics.

There is not much else to be said about this. The animation itself is becoming outdated. Pixar is still king, Dreamworks is sneaking up in the back nine, and Universal's animation team making a name for themselves with one of the biggest animated hits of last year. Disney needs to keep an eye out for it's competitors, because they are about to totally take over. Overall, a waste of everything we love.
