Review of Marry Me (2022) by Anonymouscouple — 07 Mar 2022
“Such a shame they worked so hard on this,” Said my husband as we watched J-Lo, reaching into the air quite dramatically, sing her heart out before a tween orchestra. Indeed, everything about this movie was as manufactured as the ballads that were shamelessly plugged into this script.
You had the rocky father-daughter relationship, the Mathalon student in a wheel-chair, sign-cards with proclamations of love, etc. J-Lo and Owen Wilson had about as much chemistry as a broomstick and a dustpan, and we learned what Wilson looks like stripped of all comedy, which is boring and old.
Overall, if you’re looking for a rom-com to make your husband squirm with awkward discomfort, this is the one.
