Review of Married to the Mob (1988) by Simon T — 10 Dec 2017
Anyone who only knows Jonathan Demme from his masterful Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia may be surprised to discover how brilliant he was at black comedy. This often hilarious mob farce is a fine companion to the previous year's Something Wild, sharing a similar unsettling juggling of violence, romantic intrigue and slapstick.
Beautifully acted, not least by the gorgeous Michelle Pfeiffer, it also boasts yet another wonderfully eclectic soundtrack.
