Review of Married Life (2008) by Ray P — 27 May 2009
Some fine acting by a top-notch cast is wasted by an uninteresting & badly disjointed film about the trials of marraige circa 1949. The film never figures out what it's trying to be.
Most annoyingly, the film suffers from serious lack of continuity - completely unacceptable for a big-budget, Hollywood movie. For instance, the film opens indicating the year is 1949 - yet some of the clothing and eyeglasses are clearly more modern than that and the movie playing at the local cinema is 1951's "Pandora and the Flying Dutchmen" starring Ava Gardner and James Mason. Aren't there people paid to catch blatant errors like this?!?!
