It very much is a performance-driven film that may not be for everyone so take it with a grain of salt. I think what I like most about it is that neither parent is shown in a positive light. Both had flaws that inevitably caused the demise of the relationship.
It was a satisfying movie, at least to me, that was capped off by an amazing performance by Adam Driver.
