Review of Marnie (1964) by Jeff Q — 12 May 2008
Marnie sucks and let me tell you why. First, the poor acting of Tippi Hedren is a distraction against the steady cadence of Sean Connery. Second, the film lasts way too long for a story about nothing (and I don't mean the cool Seinfeld nothing).
Third, the ending is so anti-climatic that I think I felt anger. And worst of all is that Hitchcock keeps winking at us saying, "Don't worry something good is right around the corner", only to show us another empty corner over and over and over and over again.
