Review of Marnie (1964) by Christian O — 14 Jan 2008
I was deeply drawn into this picture simply because Tippi Hedren as Marnie is a character so psychotic so anti men and a sneaky thief yet im in all total empathy with her Sean Connery is the one who tries to figure out why she is the way that she is yet it is a bit distracting because he plays a typical sherlock holmes type of guy.
What is powerful is this film has a lot of emotion and conflicts and stillness and craft yet is done by Hitchcock. He is a very visual type of filmmaker and isn't afraid to take risks. Marnie is a great film.
