Review of Marnie (1964) by Jean-Paul S — 28 Mar 2011
Sean Connery carries this film on his shoulders. Love the sexual and final catharsis dominated by the zoologist on instinctive behaviour, Connery. That's just a great intellectual stimulation, greatly played.
However, the role of Marnie gets tiresome after a while. The film would definitely have found benefit from a more compact running time. Finally, it is with this film evident that Hitchcock completely masters the mother-child-relationship in particular and the concept of family in general.
