Review of Marnie (1964) by Gavin W — 19 Jan 2013
Not among Alfred Hitchcock's best but still much better than what the Hollywood industry comes up with most of the time these days. Marnie is a nicely written portrait of a disturbing woman portrayed very well by Tippi Hedren, who ended up stealing the show.
Her character development is nicely carried out & Alfred Hitchcock's typical habit to twist the story & hide the key moment until the very end to confuse & surprise the viewers keeps the entertainment going.
Overall, a nicely written & directed film, only a bit dragged.
