Review of Marnie (1964) by Louis D — 02 Mar 2008
Despite its masterful cinematography and variegated production design, Marnie's attempts at a psychological-driven character study are restrained through poor pacing and an all too unimpressive performance from Tippi Hedren.
Hitchock's commonly successful attempts at genre fusion feel forced in this particular film, leaving the audience with a series of poorly connected events that lack both confidence and purpose.
