Review of Marmaduke (2010) by Caleb C — 11 Apr 2011
Can't believe that Emma Stone was one of the lead voices here. If it wasn't for my sister, I would have never even touched this one, even though my dad was the one that recorded this on tv. Either way, this was not entirely horrible.
Mostly laughably bad jokes here and some really old refernces to the 90's including a "who let the dogs out" joke. *face palm* Besides this, I can't understand how this movie got the cast it did besides the fact that it's based on the classic cartoon strip and also the loaction it takes place in, which above all else in the film is actually beautiful to look at in the brief scenes where we don't have to hear the god awful dialouge.
There where also a few elements here that reminded me of thee original Land Before Time, but in no way came close to the quality of the scenes from that film. Overall I can see the little kids loving this one and it wouldn't be too much tourture to watch this if one had to babysit a kid or watch it with their kid.
Otherwise, I would reccommend the older classics of the same genre, Babe and Babe Pig in the City or the Homward Bound films. Still can't believe Emma Stone is in this.
