Review of Marley (2012) by Shoib K — 06 May 2012
Justifiably this could be described as a "respectul" documentary and director Kevin McDonald never really spends too long looking at the more questionable episodes and actions of Bob Marley's life, however he doesn't gloss over them completely.
In general the style of the movie is to let people tell their own story and leave you to make up your own mind (Chris Blackwell and Bunny Wailer's differing viewpoints being a case in point). The respect and admiration the director has for his subject does not diminish the film's charm and he reveals many surprising "new" facts about this iconic artist.
2 hrs plus rushes by - well worth catching....
