Review of Marley (2012) by Nico P — 16 Jan 2013
Great documentary, well worth seeing. It is indeed exhaustive, but the price of trying to fit an extraordinary person's life into 140 minutes is that each aspect is only touched on briefly. In the case of Marley, my biggest disappointment was how little time was spent on his actual music -- his song writing, singing, and guitar playing.
There's very little examination of how the topics of his songs progressed over time, how his musical interests changed, and how he developed and expanded his skills as a musician.
