Review of Marked Woman (1937) by Eric A — 12 Mar 2008
A promising story has its message and tone muddled by the restrictions of the Production Code. Although very procedural with sometimes atrocious dialogue it has a certain winking, titillating self-knowledge.
The acting isn't as good as you'd think it would be, but Bogart is good playing against type and Davis hones a trademark character type for later, better projects.
