Review of Marjorie Prime (2017) by Audatious T — 06 Apr 2017
A smart, thought-provoking, and beautifully melancholic film about memory and our relationship with technology. "Marjorie Prime" is a quiet but effective mind-bender. Although I've never seen the play that this film is based on, I have to say that writer-director Michael Almereyda did a great job of adapting the play and making it cinematic.
Some may be put off by the film's slow pacing, but I actually quite enjoyed it. Solid performances across the board and Mica Levi's score is eerie and just excellent. It is a film that challenges you and asks you to use your brain.
I like this film a lot! Big thumbs up.
