Review of Marie Antoinette (2006) by Dtgumby — 20 Oct 2006
Basically what we have with Marie Antoinette is a movie where nothing happens, no themes are explored, no character is developed, there's no plot to be found and there's nothing to make up for this.
My theory is that Sofia wanted to make a Terrance Malick movie but didn't have the beautiful images and developed sense of place that makes his movies great. That said, Dunst sure is pretty and the 80s music really is well used.
Maybe a 20 minute version of this film would be wonderful.
