Review of Maria's Lovers (1984) by Peter M — 26 Jul 2010
The way this is packaged it looks like a â??Bâ?? grade movie playing on its sexy content. Although Natassja is beautiful, the film relies on subtle play of some strong characters and the disturbed nature of the main character who has returned, psychologically damaged from his WW11 experiences.
Natassja is not acting in her first language and I think this is also the case for some of the other actors, this adds another dimension; a plus for me but some viewers definitely see this as a flaw. This has something of that Hollywood formula that answers too much and supplies every answer, but it is appealing and draws some beautiful characters and it is ultimately rewarding.
