Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by Keaton J — 19 Nov 2008
I can't deny Noah Baumbach's talent as a writer (or even director), but god is this movie unenjoyable. The entire movie is just brutally cynical and loathing, and it's so sad to see all these characters (including Nicole Kidman in probably her best performance) act so immature.
Plus titular character Margot is a really despicable human being and a terrible mother, and Noah laps it all up like a thirsty dog. He expects us to do the same. Personally I was rooting for Jack Black.
At least he was more stable than the sisters.
