Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by Codie E — 26 Jul 2008
Pretty pretentious and self indulgent, fails in comparison to The Squid And The Whale because its horrific characters are not as funny or gleefully dispicable. But there is still fun to be had, particualrly Jack Black's loser, Malcolm.
And technically the film is spot on; Harris Sevides' controlled cinematography and Carol Littleton's editing perfectly match Baumbach's script and intention.
