Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by Laura O — 06 Sep 2008
This movie was a bit odd. It was good to see Jack Black have a more relaxed acting style, instead of pushing so hard to be funny. It was not so good to see him naked though. Nicole Kidman also did a great job.
She wasn't Nicole Kidman. She was actually playing a part in this one. I think these parents shared a bit too much information with their children, and vice versa. Some of the sexual things they shared didn't really need to be shared.
And I'm not quite sure what this movie was trying to say either. It could have been about the bond between Kidman's character and her son, but for most the movie that seemed more of a subplot.
It just ended on that note which is what makes me think that was the focus.
