Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by Tibor B — 02 Oct 2008

One of those tedious, "aren't I a smart incisive writer of fucked up characters" pieces in which scene after scene is just a torrent of neuroses and you don't like or care about any of the characters.

It's a shame because it's a good cast, Jennifer Jason Leigh particularly excels, and Kidman takes on quite an emotionally challenging role. Unfortunately Black is miscast, here not being able to translate his comic energy into a credible dramatic performance.

The characters show no sign of progression, and it's generally a drag to sit through.
