Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by Sam B — 25 Nov 2013
You are either going to be really absorbed by the bitter, jaded and hurtful characters, or find their overly intellectual attempts to destroy each other emotionally unrealistic or even pretentious. For the most part I am in the latter category, but at times I felt Noah Baumbach was trying to show off how scarred and cynical he could make the characters rather than just writing a script people could relate to.
The acting was very good on the whole, with Jack Black doing a great job acting (and I mean acting, not just playing the zany stoner character he usually does).
