Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by Jami L — 10 Mar 2009
Merely decent, a bit of a step down from Baumbach's previous "Squid and the Whale". The whole story seemed recycled from any number of dysfunctional family stories, the look was fairly monochromatic, and in the end you didn't care much for the characters.
Jack Black lent some good comedy to the generally dour mood, but I suspect his teary phone call wasn't meant to be as laugh-inducing as it was.
