Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by David O — 26 Dec 2009
A blistering antidote to Little Miss Sunshine, Juno, Garden State and all those other risible indie dramedies that sell neurosis as something cute and novel. It ain't rocket science, people: Margot at the Wedding is uncomfortable to watch because domestic dysfunction is uncomfortable to be around.
Baumbach understands his subject inside out, and Kidman and Leigh do some of their best ever work.
