Review of Margot at the Wedding (2007) by Inta K — 04 Apr 2011
Almost every single character in this film by writer/director Noah Baumbach is completely unlikable. Yet each one of them is very authentic. Perhaps they may be too realistic to appeal to most viewers, which is probably the reason it isn't quite as popular as Baumbach's previous film The Squid and the Whale.
All of the actors turn in good performances especially Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh as the two sisters. It is also wonderfully shot. It may not deliver all the goods that The Squid and the Whale had before but it's still an odd, quirky little comedy drama that's worth watching in my opinion.
8/10.
