Review of Margin Call (2011) by Leonie P — 28 Feb 2012
Very solid movie. I was thoroughly impressed. I think it's a tight and terrific screenplay. Smart dialog. Believable performances. It makes the viewer think about death and the kind of mark you want to leave behind without ever being obvious about it.
Very smart film. Stellar cast. Literally, everyone. Spacey, Irons, Bettany, Quinto, Bake, Tucci and I've never personally been a huge fan of Demi Moore, which is a shame cause its a largely male cast and I would've liked to see an action that can hold her own a bit more.
Demi just doesn't have much presence and I never thought she was particularly good. The photography is terrific. It's an all-around solid movie. It deserved the original screenplay nomination.
