Review of Margin Call (2011) by Derek T — 17 Feb 2013
Margin Call is a well-executed, timely thriller about the economic crisis. Chandor's debut film is impressive in all facets of its production: casting, dialogue, and pacing among them. Chandor's script and direction allow several excellent actors to weave their way through the moral quandaries of a firm in the midst of the crisis.
Margin Call is tightly paced and directed, and it makes an excellent counterpart to documentaries like Inside Job as an exemplar about the ills and thrills of contemporary American capitalism.
