Review of Margin Call (2011) by Robert H — 12 Oct 2013
This is an excellent movie, with outstanding performances from its ensemble cast. Unlike WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS, this is able to take the 2008 financial crisis and all of its associated jargon, and bring it down to a layman's level.
Instead of looking at it in an impersonal way, it frames around a drama which emanates from a precipitating event. Just enough screen time is allocated to each major character to allow the audience to identify with them, to see the effects and how they react to the situation.
Overall, this is an excellent exploration of a recent, devastating event.
