Review of Margin Call (2011) by Danna B — 19 Jul 2014
A compelling movie, even if I didn't really know what they were talking about half the time. I don't have much familiarity with the financial industry, so it was hard to keep up with exactly what was wrong with the company and what they were proposing doing.
To some extent, that doesn't matter though. What's more important is how the characters interact with each other and how the gravity of the moment affects each of them. Stanley Tucci owns every scene he's in, and the rest of the cast is very good.
Although I expected Kevin Spacey to turn and start talking to the camera a couple times.
