Review of Margin Call (2011) by Thomas B — 29 Jan 2015
That this is any director's debut is remarkable, given the dense subject and challenging scope. The style has an air of Fincher, without being nearly as cold. If you care about this sort of thing, Margin Call is remarkably well lit, and Chandor uses lighting as a key visual tool.
The script isn't overwritten and he uses visuals to portray his meaning, which is a rare trait these days.
