Review of Margaret (2011) by Dakotah G — 01 Sep 2012
I can definitely understand why this was divisive and long delayed. It isn't an easy movie to market. It's thick and dense, leaving you with a lot to chew on, from misplaced blame to arrogant naivety, all doubling as 9/11 allegory.
We're finally getting the films dealing with the anxieties and frustrations of the aughts, when we all had to process the reality that we, and our ignorant opinions, aren't alone. Everyone is the protagonist of their own melodrama, with everyone else in the entire world as supporting characters and plot devices.
