Review of Margaret (2011) by John M — 03 Jan 2013
Paquin is mesmerising in this story of a spoilt New York princess who lashes out at everyone around her, as she finds out that sometimes things that happen in life don't have a reason, and she is not the centre of the universe.
A bit of an anomaly, this film spent 6yrs on the back burner while the studio and director couldn't agree on editing, and it still clocks in at a hefty 2 and a half hours. There are numerous well known names who play bit parts such as Matt Damon (before he pumped himself up for Bourne), Matthew Broderick, Mark Ruffalo and Jean Reno.
I enjoyed this, but can understand the criticism some have levelled at it of being too long.
