I don't agree with the Tomatometer on this one. I liked the plot and the clashing of idealistic young minds thrown against the unfair truths of life, but it was hard to watch as Paquin's character, although she does a good job, is not someone who I particularly liked.
The movie often was frustratingly slow and some scenes were just unnecessary, making it grueling to watch.
