For one, this isn't really about vampires at all. A really strange movie made in an insanely short amount of time (8 days, I believe). This definitely isn't aimed at mainstream viewers and probably wouldn't even be liked by most people it's aimed at.
Leaves a lot unanswered/open to interpretation.
