Review of March of the Penguins (2005) by Manny C — 20 Jan 2011
There's nothing that gets people going more than the sight of cute animals and that element is key to the success of Luc Jaquet's documentary March of The Penguins, and intimate look at the lives of emperor penguins in Antarctica.
The penguins take on lives of their own as wee witness them waddle, eat, mate, raise chicks, fend of harsh winters and waddle some more. Morgan Freeman narrates with the utmost sincerity. Jaquet's penchant for easy sentimentality can march into Disney territory at times, but it doesn't make his film any less magical.
