Review of March of the Penguins (2005) by Adam K — 24 Apr 2011
Very nearly great, the combination of the astounding visuals and Morgan Freeman's fine narration certainly suggests greatness, but the film is too preoccupied in humanizing the story. The filmmakers can't seem to except that these are animals, anthropomorphizing them and forcing story and character into the equation of what was really a simple, nature documentary. That said it does have astounding visuals and Morgan Freeman's fine narration.
3/5.
