I think my favourate movie of all time,the performances of Laurance olivier is the most chilling iv'e ever seen as an evil nazi killer who has to come out of hiding to collect his ill gotton gains.The scene where he's pricing up the diamonds in a jewish new york is stunning as is the rest of his peformance.(this is a real actor not todays Russell crowe pretend bulldust).
Dustin Hoffman's finest performance also not that i've seen all his films!!Aso fantastic performances from Roy Scheider & William Devane make this a wonderfull movie.
I must watch more of John Schlesinger who directed it as just the way it was shot with the music & people in the background talking (in the schene where he's pricing up the diamonds) make the suspense superb.
