Review of Marathon Man (1976) by Rodney E — 11 Oct 2008
Dustin Hoffman teams up with his Midnight Cowboy director about a marathon runner caught up in some drama involving William Devane, Roy Scheider and a sinister Laurence Olivier who is one of the great villains here.
The torture scene is worth checking out alone. Genuine suspenseful movie and you can tell that Hoffman is really into this. Dig him running around New York. This really set the standard for suspenseful dramas with action that nobody really seems able to replicate.
